NEW FOCUS: Green Bali for Kids

Ecotourism is a trendy concept for all the right reasons. When families stay in an ecolodge and discover eco activities, children become aware of the environment and benefit a great deal from spending quality time close to nature. Bali now offers various kid friendly ecolodges in beautiful surroundings so why not try and go back to nature for a weekend or longer?

Bali Eco Stay

bali eco stay

Bali Eco Stay is in the west of Bali, on the slope of Mount Batukaru, in the midst of rice terraces, forest and plantations with a small river running through the resort. It is a recent resort and the Australian owners have already made a great impact on the local community. There are two bungalows particularly suited for families with amazing views. Families can go trekking, mountain biking or just swimming in the river. Kids can learn about hydroelectricity and organic farming. The owners have a son and two tutors who are more than happy to get children engaged in fun activities around the resort. Kids can also join local children to play football, go to the school or mix in an English class. We recommend Bali Eco Stay to recharge your batteries and enjoy the powerful and soothing effect nature can have on children. The food is organic and tasty. Don’t miss the homemade muffins!

Saribuana Ecolodge

Saribuana eco lodge

Saribuana Ecolodge is a well-established ecolodge run by a fascinating couple seriously involved in the protection of the environment and in the empowerment of the local community. It is nearby Bali Eco Stay, close to the start of the only remaining rainforest in Bali located around Mt Batukaru and a walk in the forest is not to be missed. Two of their villas are ideal for families and they overlook the jungle with the sea in the distance. They have a menu of physical and artistic activities for families and they also have many animals onsite that kids can interact with and feed: monkeys, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish and even a couple of endangered Bali starlings. There is a river along a path in the jungle where families can swim. The owners and the staff are extremely kid friendly, always ready to spend time with children to show them the wonders of nature. The food is exquisite and the mousse au chocolat and crème caramel are out of this world!
